How a re-inspection works
Didn't pass first time? No stress. Once you've made the fixes from your report, I come back for a quick re-inspection and issue your Form 23 certificate on the spot if you're compliant.
No games and no surprise fees. A re-inspection only looks at what did not pass the first time, which is why it is quicker and cheaper than starting again. You already have a report with photos showing each item and where it is, so there is no guesswork about what I will be checking.

The usual list
Most people sort it in an afternoon
The overwhelming majority of re-inspection items are adjustments and tidying rather than new fencing.
- Adjust the gate closer So it latches from any position, every time, not just from wide open.
- Clear the non-climb zone Move pot plants, furniture or the pool pump out of the 900mm outside the fence.
- Pack the ground back Where soil has washed out and left a gap over 100mm under a panel.
- Lift a settled boundary fence Back to at least 1.8m where it forms part of the barrier.
If it is a bigger job
I will tell you straight
A few jobs are trade work rather than a Saturday task. Replacing a whole run of fencing, or dealing with a door that opens directly into the pool area, is not something to rush.
In that case, take your time. There is no deadline on a re-inspection and it is far better done properly once than patched twice.
